The role of polar region in global climate change and human sustainable development has become an increasing source of concern in recent years. In the 21st century, polar environments and ecology are facing severe threats as a consequence of global climate change, the overexploitation of polar resources, and the rapid growth in tourism. Governments, research institutions, media and international environmental protection organizations around the world have made great efforts to address this, but there is still a long way to go. Among the difficulties are national differences in economic development, culture and geopolitical ambitions. Governments and civil society both need to find more effective ways to protect polar environments. Driven by this need, the IPPA aims to break through national boundaries by building a communication platform for all those who are committed to polar affairs worldwide.
The IPPA will promote polar environmental protection by addressing issues such as global warming, resource exploitation and tourism. It will press for common standards and increase public awareness through polar science education and cultural exchange.
IPPA remains consistence communications with government officers, scientists, industries, media, and the public. IPPA is sensitive to the newest research progress globally and transfers this information to decision makers of governments and UN. Also, depending on the most intelligent specialists’ engagement, IPPA will enact unconstrained regulations to protect polar environment and provide professional services and products for industries, media, educators, and youth.
